This Sunday, Taco Bell returns to the Super Bowl with a new commercial that features Doja Cat and the remake of the pop-rock anthem “Celebrity Skin” by Hole. The new song features lyrics reworked in partnership with Courtney Love.
Set to air during the fourth quarter, “The Grande Escape” is an epic story of liberation from conformity, according to the brand’s press release.
Viewers will see Doja Cat and others escape from a clown college. Who would have imagined that clown school is the place where conformity takes root? Not I.
“Live Más means celebrating that little bit of different that lives in all of us, which is exactly what Doja Cat represents,” said Tracee Larocca, Taco Bell’s Head of Brand Creative.
In other words, Taco Bell is saying its menu is unique. Like Doja Cat.
Behind the Scenes with Doja Cat
“It’s no secret I’m a major Taco Bell fan, which has made my role with this campaign all the more fun,” said Doja Cat. “I’ve enjoyed every moment of this campaign, especially the ones where we get to break all the rules.”
