Willie Nelson is a funny man. The brand team at Sketchers thankfully recognizes this and created a commercial that highlights Mr. Nelson’s dry wit.
The legendary recording artist appears in two new Skechers commercials, both filmed on his Luck Ranch in Spicewood, Texas.
“Willie Nelson is an American icon whose appeal knows no boundaries and a perfect fit for our new global campaign that begins at the Super Bowl. He’s still on his feet doing what he loves best—entertaining the masses on tour, and now helping spread our comfort message along the way,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.
“I’m doing this because of a message we can all agree on—everyone deserves the right to feel comfortable,” said Nelson. “From the bus to the stage to a jog around the ranch, staying healthy and feeling good is how I can keep doing what I love.”
The commercials mark the ninth time that the footwear brand has advertised during the Super Bowl.
Nelson is now gearing up for an upcoming tour and he is set to drop a 14-piece collection called “A Beautiful Time.” The forthcoming record will be released on Nelson’s 89th birthday on April 29.
