TaylorMade Borrows From Nike Goes With What Works

Paula Creamer was named LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2005. She had 10 top ten finishes and two tour victories. And she earned $1,495,447, making her only the eleventh player in the LPGA’s 54-year history to earn more than $1 million in a single season.
Paula, who will turn 20 in August, is also an LPGA golfer who knows something about branding. The fact that she sports her signature pink outfits is personal branding at its best.
TaylorMade/Adidas Golf (see above); Sundog Eyewear; The Royal Bank of Scotland; ADT; and NEC, the Japanese electronics giant have all lined this player’s bank account.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. Today—after working for seven agencies in five states—I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.
