Immersive Media, with offices in Calgary and Portland, recently teamed with Saatchi & Saatchi on behlaf of Armani Jeans.
With IMC’s Immersive Video, Saatchi & Saatchi created an interactive web experience that moves users through a dynamic 3D space. The idea is to let each user explore and determine their individual viewing adventure, which changes from one visit to the next.
The video, shot with Immersive’s 11 patented Dodeca 2360 high-res camera lenses, streams simultaneously, capturing an almost complete 360-degree view to create the spherical video.
According to Media In Canada, other brands using Immersive’s technology as part of their interactive campaigns include Mercedes, Adidas, NBC Sports and Mini Cooper.
Doing some quick research on 360 video now that the iPhone has a $50 dollar attachment that creates 360 video with better image resolution than the expensive proprietary systems like Immersive Media: http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/05/gopano-micro-brings-360-degree-video-recording-to-the-iphone-4/
