“The owl has landed.”
I like a provocative headline. And I like a print campaign that invites readers to know more (like this one from KesselsKramer).
I also love a brand with great stories and a rich legacy.
Kentucky Owl Bourbon was originally founded in 1879 but was forced to close during prohibition. The heritage brand was relaunched in 2017 as a luxury, small-batch product. THE WISEMAN is the brand’s latest release.
According to The Bourbon Review, on the eve of Prohibition, the government seized over $40 million of bourbon from then-Master Blender C.M. Dedman. Between the seized stock and the damaging effects of Prohibition, Kentucky Owl faded into obscurity.
Almost a century later, Dedman’s great-great-grandson, Master Blender Dixon Dedman, brought the brand back to life. In 2018, Stoli Group purchased the company, and ground was broken on a new Kentucky Owl Park in Bardstown, KY.
