Skittles is candy with attitude. The brand also runs funny, memorable ads, but not on Super Bowl Sunday.
To celebrate the biggest marketing day of the year, Skittles is going with a 30-minute commercial, live on Broadway.
Through song and dance, the show will take an absurdly self-reflective look at consumerism and the ever-increasing pervasiveness of brand advertising in our lives.
Ticket proceeds from the play will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
According to Adweek, the 1:00 p.m. curtain will leave attendees plenty of time to make it home for the Super Bowl.
The Skittles show will also feature a celebrity among its 17-member cast, although the company declined to name that celebrity for the time being.
For ticket information, see The Town Hall’s site.
Okay, now the for the commercials.
