Please stop thinking that Don is dumb. Don knows what he’s doing.
Did you hear that? The people of America rule again.
- Not Russia
- Not the mob
- Not a made-for-TV casino king
You and me. The people. We rule again.
Historically speaking, we the people have never ruled America. Not even close. But facts are so pliable now.
Here, look at this decimation of truth.
On TV, you get to grab ’em by the “you know what.”
When you’re a star, they let you.
Don Trump Won…Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
The ad above says, “Donald Trump won, but Democrats want to overturn the election.” Democrats do want to overturn the election (which HRC won by 3 million popular votes despite Russian interference).
But why? Why do Democrats want to overturn the election?
- Are Democrats vindictive socialists who do nothing but talk?
- Are Democrats anti-American?
- Are Democrats well-meaning do-gooders who belong in a school?
Don is too big to answer rhetorical questions that we all know the answers to. Let’s turn to the wig-wearing mouthpieces of America for that delight.
I am learning so much here. Don is responsible for the best economy in American history, and women from coast-to-coast don’t despise him, they love him.
Is there a TV writer in the house? From the evidence above, I’d say yes there’s a White House full of narrative artists who invent fantasy storylines for a living.
What’s wrong with giving people what they want? We don’t want lawyers doing lawyerly things. We want superheroes!
Don Was Booed at the World Series, But This Ad Told Another Story To Millions
Here’s a real fact with no sarcasm whatsoever attached to it: The president and pro-Trump committees that support his reelection raised a record-setting $105 million over three months earlier this year. A small slice of this huge pie was used to entertain viewers during the World Series.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 31, 2019
Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said the World Series ad buy was a seven-figure purchase. He acknowledged the aggressive strategy of playing political ads for a national audience more than a year before Americans will vote for their next president.
“It’s 12 months out,” Murtaugh said, “and we are on offense.”
What Could Be, But Isn’t
Meanwhile, Democrats have a fractured mess of a message on everything from impeachment to who their nominee will likely be. This leaves American voters with two shitty choices: buy the narrative that Don is a colossal mistake or buy the narrative that Don is a savior king.
In a nation with millions of people living from paycheck-to-paycheck, our collective economic anxiety and vulnerability are palpable. Don and the GOP know how to use this and every other fear to their advantage.
What fears do Democrats play upon? What positive visions of the near future do Democrats offer?
The fact is the Democrats could employ the smartest messaging people in the land. They could choose to fix their problems, in other words. But to do that, a client must first recognize that she has a problem. The Democrats do not recognize this. Not now, and if they can’t see it now, when will they?
Will they see it if Don beats them again? It’s hard to say. What is not hard to say is bad clients cling to archaic or offensive ideas that don’t appeal to their customers or prospects. Bad clients can’t or won’t see themselves as others see them, and bad clients don’t want to hear about it from their consultants or anyone else.
