Heidi Hackemer, founder and director of strategy for Wolf & Wilhelmine, has the right idea—either rebuild the agency of the future around her own human needs or get the hell out of dodge.
Hackemer is a Wisconsin-bred New Yorker who believes in good ideas, a good run and good hair. She also eloquently states several more of her core beliefs in a tidy piece on Medium.
For instance, this belief is as charming as it is dead-on.
We try to maintain a ratio of 50% “ad people”/50% non-ad people for each Dream Team — there’s nothing more boring and institutional than a group of advertising people sitting around a table.
Like me, Hackemer also enjoys a nap, and personal time when not cranking on a project.
From a deliverables perspective, I am also in love with Wolf & Wilhelmine’s Strategy Sprints. “Sometimes companies — especially start-ups but other companies too — need just a day or two of strategy brain.” Exactly!
