Wieden + Kennedy isn’t big on conventional wisdom. Thus it’s no surprise that the agency’s new Turbo Tax Super Bowl spot shares a lot in common with a spot the agency made for Dodge a handful of years ago.

I find it uncanny that one agency has turned to the Revolutionary War for creative inspiration twice. It’s like someone’s trying to say something important, and high dollar commercials are the vehicle for delivering the message. But what is the message?
Maybe the message is America is great—go buy something. Maybe the message deeper/better than that.
