We Need Editors To Make Sense Of It All, Now More Than Ever

I was sad to read the following notice, since Tom Peter’s Wire Service has been one of our best daily sources for material.
BTW, I refute the notion that technology will serve me better than an editor.

We deeply appreciate the loyalty of our readers, but also understand that technologies have emerged that may be able to serve you as well as this wire service has.

Technology alone almost always over-delivers. For instance, I love Alltop, but there’s too much information there and none of it is weighed. Having an editor cull the list of news items down to size is a hugely important function in a society deprived of attention and time.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. Today—after working for seven agencies in five states—I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.
