If Yelp, Google, Fousquare and Facebook all get their way, local business windows will be covered in window decals.
According to Mashable, Facebook is sending out window decals with text-to-Like SMS instructions to select local businesses. Facebook is also gifting beta testers with $25 in ad credits to help drive home the utility of the service and propel businesses to participate in on-site advertising as well.
While I’m not sold on the whole “like it” thing, nor do I want to see the Facebook brand spread far and wide across the web, I have to admit I like this interactive element at retail and how it all circles back to to the web, and then back again to the store, for both the consumers and the shops in question.
