We can no longer wait for governments and not-for-profits to fix what ails our societies. Today, companies (and the individuals who work there) are driving innovation and positive change, because it’s the right thing to do for the larger community and the brand.
Take the widespread proliferation of discarded fishing nets ensnaring aquatic life and clogging waterways. It’s a problem that threatens the wildlife in the oceans and the fisheries above.
Costa Sunglasses and Bureo are two companies working together to solve the crisis. By recovering the old nets and recycling them into plastic pellets that can be used again in manufacturing, the companies have discovered a new material resource while improving habitat for humans and fish.
Edited by Lucky Post’s Sai Selvarajan for agency McGarrah Jessee, the film demonstrates how sustainability is more than an environmental concern—it’s everyone’s responsibility.
Shot along the pristine coastline of Southern Chile, the film is endowed with a sense of buoyant optimism. Selvarajan collaborated closely with composer Ali Helnwein to develop a track that would honor the story’s compelling narrative.
