Do you pay for any/some/all of the content you consume online?
There’s no judgment coming, just an explanation of why it matters to the content producers, who in turn make it matter to you.
Adpulp, and our Emerging Voices Project specifically, is supported by 11 patrons today. The goal is to reach 100 patrons and a sustainable monthly operating budget that will pay for two or more Emerging Voices feature articles per week.
Let’s take a look at what our 11 patrons have already made possible:
- A Tasty Rediscovery: Personal Happiness Is Baked-In to Our Slow, Deliberate Processes
- There Is No Relationship Between the Size of Your Talent and Size of Your Market
- Creative Unicorns Starting to Multiply (made possible by Looney Advertising)
- Emerging Voices Project: Adam England Reports on the Job Market for New Grads
Next up is another new article from Toby Donaldson, a brand strategist in London.
His pitch to me: “Sun Tzu, So You Don’t Have To”
Patrons Are ‘A-List’ All the Way
A former colleague and current Adpulp patron texted me the other day to suggest that I cover the Facebook debacle, where 100+ brands have stopped advertising on the platform for the month of July.
People who pay to make Adpulp stronger and better are people I pay close attention to.
It’s human nature to help one another, and I listen to and help my friends and supporters.
Unhinged and Ungated … Just the Way You Like It
Every time I follow a social media link to a gated article, I am pissed. The social platforms ought to label such posts, so we don’t waste our clicks on content we can’t consume.
There are no stories behind locked gates here. No programmatic ads to annoy you or clutter up your flow. No banner ads at the moment, although we do place them on the sidebar occasionally. No paid links. No unlabeled or obtuse advertorials.
Why would a media site dedicated to covering media, marketing, and advertising choose to skip all of the above? Because we know it’s not effective. What’s effective is writing for a niche audience who believes in (and clearly benefits from) your product and is willing to back that belief with dollars. Please do so now at Patreon.com/Adpulp.
