I noticed that there’s a new player atop the Alltop Marketing page, adjacent to AdPulp, interestingly enough. Oh, and they’re from Portland…
On November 14, W+K Portland dropped their studio blog in favor of an agency wide blog.

The W+K blog began three years ago as a fun side project in the Studio. And it was great and we all loved it. But the WWW is a cruel place and our blog quickly grew into a giant ugly monster. So we killed it.
Today we launched our new blog. The URL is now:

I wish the agency well on their blogged journey, but I can’t help but wonder what’s up with the logo. It not so much that it’s bad, I’m puzzled by what it says. To me it says blogging is a pastime, a juvenile pursuit, a goof. And yes, blogging is all of that and more thanks to its dutiful practitioners (so maybe I ought not question the Pearls of the District).

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. Today—after working for seven agencies in five states—I am now head of brand strategy and creative direction at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.
