To get a sense for his range, let’s look at another piece he did for Dwell.
One of the things that speaks to me most is sense of place. I like it in the writers I read (Thomas McGuane, for one, always nails sense of place). And I like it film. Clearly, Nadeau brings this aesthetic to his work, and it works for a magazine like Dwell and a product like paint.
The first piece is sponsored by Glidden Paints, and the second by Kohler. I have to say I’m impressed by a brand that supports the arts, takes risks and generally surprises people with what they’re willing to deliver, messaging wise.
But does it make me want to buy paint or faucets? In a word, yes.
