There’s an old saying in the hospitality business, “If the guest has a good experience, she might tell one person about it, but if she has a bad experience she’s going to tell ten.”
With 3000 very unhappy customers disembarking last night from a failed (and well publicized) cruise, it goes without saying that Carnival Cruise Lines is in crisis mode.
According to CBS News, Carnival Cruise Lines has canceled a dozen more planned voyages aboard the Triumph and acknowledged that the crippled ship had been plagued by other mechanical problems in the weeks before an engine-room fire left it powerless in the Gulf of Mexico.
The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an investigation into the fire. Perhaps the FTC will investigate on behalf of pissed consumers.
