Did Disney Quietly Bow To Complaints?

Chatting with a client today at lunch, he mentioned that he’d heard Disney pulled their Hero commercials featuring a bunch of adults walking around in goofy superhero costumes due to complaints about the use of Hero when we have a /conflict/ going on in Iraq. The main message Disney was trying to drive home of course, was that taking your kids to Disney World would make you a hero in their eyes and coincidentally to promote their new $1,500 for a weeks stay at a Magic Kingdom property.
Which got me to thinking, I don’t recall seeing any of the Disney ads lately, other than the “too excited to sleep” ads. Did Disney pull them and replace with the current creative or was this just the next phase of creative. What’s your take on Hero-type advertising in times of conflict?
