Rolling Rock is prominently featured in this week’s episode of the TNT show Trust Me. The beer brand is also buying banners on the show’s TNT web page. I’m not a fan of the show–it’s has none of the natural rhythm, charming dialogue or intrigue of Mad Men. But let’s overlook that for the moment to examine the scene above. The future direction of a real beer brand is being fought over in the fictional space of a TV show. Is this a way for Rolling Rock to prove its “Born Small Town” positioning is right? I wonder, because it’s clear from where the brand actually is in real life, which of the creative people in the skit above is correct.
