Weyland is a character in the new Ridley Scott film, Prometheus, and the above trailer is a promotional tool used to build interest in the story (a prequel to Alien).
According to the film’s Wikipedia entry, TED community director Tom Rielly helped approve the use of the TED brand in the campaign-the first time that TED had been used for promotional purposes, and for which TED received no money.
