Surprise And Delight

Colle+McVoy is one of my favorite agencies. Their work is consistently excellent and they understand the art of public relations like no one else. I feel particularly well qualified to make that last statement, given that I’m assaulted by blunt PR objects all day long, Monday through Friday.

Jen Stack, Director of Corporate Communications at Colle+McVoy, knows better. For one, her team isn’t afraid to make something and put it in the mail. During the holiday season, they sent me some amazing letter press greeting cards (utilitarian and beautiful).

Now, to celebrate National Bike Month, I have a nice note from Stack and this awesome little Rastaman mountain biker, which is the kind of keepsake I’ll place on my desk and keep there. That’s a home run for any direct mail piece.

By the way, the note says one-third of the agency’s employees regularly bike to work. Colle+McVoy is also working on a “range of ideas” for Cannondale, GT Bicycles, Mongoose, Schwinn, SUGOi and PeopleForBikes.com to “encourage a more pedal-powered world.”

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a local political candidate when I was 17. She went on to win her race, and I felt the power of persuasive copy for the first time. Starting in Portland in 1995, I worked my way across the country as a copywriter and eventually became a content director making media products for big packaged goods brands. I returned to Oregon in 2008, and now I focus on building brands for companies that matter, including this one.
