Social media marketing and analytics provider, Lift9, sees some needle movement in the wine industry.

For instance:
* 700,000 people watch wine related videos each month.
* Over 7000 wine tweets/ day
* Over 1300 wine bloggers
* The wine experience has become portable with over 300 iPhone apps.

Wine is a topic with many passionate fans, so it’s only natural that these passionistas would take to the Social Web. I did it myself a year ago at Liquid Oregon.

    My buddy, Rick Bakas is a former freelance Art Director, who is now the Director of Social Marketing at a winery in Napa. It was a position they created just to hire him. He was a great designer to work with, and now he’s the mack daddy of wine marketing. Just started last year.
