Meet My Good Friend, Print

Steffan Postaer loves print—a fact that can come as no surprise to anyone who’s ever looked at an Altoids ad.
Postaer is this week’s guest columnist at Talent Zoo, the Atlanta-based recruiter and media company. He uses this platform to wax poetic on the strength of a medim that lasts, quite literally, in stacks on nightstands and such.

I love print. To this day I ask everyone who works for me to show off ideas primarily in print. When I review portfolios I usually just look at the print. Let me see a poster. Show me the Mother-of-all-Spreads. Print is my wife. Outdoor is my mistress. I can’t imagine doing what I do without either.

More proof that the man loves print can be found in the fact he’s working on his second novel, Sweet by Design, and a non-fiction book about the advertising industry.

I worked for seven agencies in five states before launching my own practice in 2009. Today, I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.

  1. Ohmygosh, was that refreshing! In a world where an 8 hour day of writing text messages, emails, site updates, and other nontraditional goodies, it’s good to see my old muse print still gets love.
