Sheltering Kids From The Harshest of Realities

I love the simplicity of this new Public Service Announcement from Gabriel deGrood Bendt.

It’s a spot that proves you don’t need a big budget, just big ideas.

People Serving People is the largest and most comprehensive, family-focused shelter in Minnesota. Of the 300 homeless people who shelter at People Serving People every day, two thirds are children, many under the age of five.

The goal of the campaign is to equate homelessness not with the “bearded man on the street corner,” but with families and children, and to encourage donations of time and money to the shelter and its life-changing programs.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a local political candidate when I was 17. She went on to win her race, and I felt the power of persuasive copy for the first time. Starting in Portland in 1995, I worked my way across the country as a copywriter and eventually became a content director making media products for big packaged goods brands. I returned to Oregon in 2008, and now I focus on building brands for companies that matter, including this one.
