It’s Pretty Hard To Decrease Your Carbon Footprint While Driving A Car

This new ad from TBWA\Chiat\Day for the zero emission Nissan Leaf asks us to, “Imagine zero dependency on foreign oil.” I’d be happy to imagine that. But first I need to imagine myself driving a Nissan Leaf, and then I need to imagine my neighbors driving a Nissan Leaf, and so on.

VW can’t out-eco Nissan (although few are pointing out that electric cars require energy produced by coal and nuclear to run), but this is a pretty nice spot from Red Urban Canada:

The reason only few are pointing that fact out is because those few are ignorant to the fact that even coal-generated electricity results in lower greenhouse gas emissions compared with petroleum. Over time as we move toward more renewable energy sources the eco-friendliness will only improve.
