In Columbia’s Great Outdoors, Leave No Knot Untied

Disclosure: I helped write the copy for the following iPhone App from Columbia Sportswear.
When you’re bivouaced high above the valley floor on El Cap, there’s little room for consulting a classic how-to book on knots. But when that book is repurposed for the iPhone, it’s a different story.

Columbia Sportswear’s first iPhone App, “What Knot To Do,” features 70 knots in six categories. With this App you’ll always have just the right knot at the ready, with clear step-by-step tying instructions to meet any and every outdoor need.
Unlike some of the other Apps in this category, Columbia’s is free. So go get it and start practicing your Ashley’s Bend, Constrictor Knot and Mooring Hitch among others.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. After working for seven agencies in five states and freelancing for several more, I ventured out on my own in 2009. Today, as head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon, I'm focused on providing effective integrated marketing solutions to mid-market clients.
