MSNBC.com this summer acquired EveryBlock, which feeds crime reports, restaurant health inspections and other data to news organizations’ Web sites. AOL Inc. recently acquired the local-news network Patch. And now CNN.com is partnering with Outside.in.
According to The Wall Street Journal, CNN will begin to republish Outside.in dispatches on its own Web site–the biggest push into local news so far by one of the most popular national news outlets in the country. CNN and other Turner sites had nearly 64 million unique visitors in October, according to comScore Inc.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. After working for seven agencies in five states and freelancing for several more, I ventured out on my own in 2009. Today, as head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon, I'm focused on providing effective integrated marketing solutions to mid-market clients.
