I’ll admit there are plenty of things I didn’t know. One of them is that Champagne only comes from the Champagne region of France. This was a source of confusion when my girlfriend sent me to buy some champagne for her office last month, and I didn’t realize that California doesn’t produce champagne, only “sparking wine” and I wasn’t sure what the difference was.
Apparently, I’m not alone. Which is why The Champagne Bureau is trying to fix that, with advertising like the print ad below:
Keeping the message that simple is all you need. And having grown up in Georgia, I can tell you that unless sweet onions are grown in a certain designated region near Vidalia, you can’t call ’em Vidalia onions.
