BBH Learns Chinese

American agencies are scrambling to add Hispanic marketing to their laundry lists of services/expertise. Meanwhile global shops are eyeing opportunities in Asian markets, particularly China.
According to Adweek, Bartle Bogle Hegarty has opened an office in Shanghai, China, after beginning the arduous process of obtaining government approval to do so in late 2005.
BBH China launches with a staff of 18 and four clients: Bose, Diageo, Mentos and the World Gold Council. Some of those clients are shared with other agency offices, including London and New York. BBH, which is 49 percent owned by Publicis Groupe, also operates in Singapore, Sao Paulo and Tokyo.

About David Burn

I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. After working for seven agencies in five states and freelancing for several more, I ventured out on my own in 2009. Today, as head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon, I'm focused on providing effective integrated marketing solutions to mid-market clients.
