Agencies In Strange Places: 13th In A Series

Lewis Lazare looks north today, past Lincoln Park all the way up the north shore to the land of lacrosse, country clubs, private schools and 10,000 sf homes.

Dangel Advertising in Lake Forest is the new national ad agency of record for Crate & Barrel and its sister brand CB2. The north suburban agency will handle print, television and outdoor advertising for one of the nation’s most respected home specialty retailers.

Dangel Advertising in Lake Forest? Just the sound of it brings me back to a time when we considered various agency settings from Burlington to Bend. Thanks to Dangel, our “Agencies In Strange Places” series is born anew.
A look through Dangel’s portfolio reveals the firm’s exquisite design work for Sundance (an account I worked on years ago at BOWG in Salt Lake). And when you think about their location, it’s ideal for getting into the Crate & Barrel mindset. It would be like hiring a firm in Jackson, WY to work on a flyrod account.

About David Burn

Co-founder and editor of AdPulp. I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. I worked for seven agencies in five states before launching my own practice in 2009. Today, I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.
