Hugh MacLeod of GapingVoid says, “Blogs work SUPERBLY if you have great content.” Which makes me think, maybe AdPulp doesn’t have great content, because this site doesn’t work SUPERBLY. It works, but not SUPERBLY.
Hugh also says, “It’s OK to sell something on your blog. I LIKE selling stuff via the blog. Sure beats making cold-calls.”
Looking past the question above for one moment, I’d like to ask, what “stuff” do you find most enticing?
Thanks for your participation in the poll.
We’ve been in the micro-media business for some time, but we’re always thinking there must be a better way, a way to improve our methods, our content, ROI for our advertisers. the flow of comments from our loyal readers, and so on. As we work on all that, we also need to offer revenue-generating products and services.
When we boost revenue, we can afford our bar tabs, but we can also make key investments in the site. I’d love to pay business writers to report original stories, for instance. One idea I’ve been kicking around for awhile now is the creation of an original reporting fund. Said fund might be underwritten by one generous agency, like TBWA Chiat\Day. Then each time we pay for the production of original content, we place a line at the end of the piece that says, “AdPulp special report funded by TBWA Chiat\Day.”
