About David Burn

Co-founder and editor of AdPulp. I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. I worked for seven agencies in five states before launching my own practice in 2009. Today, I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.

  1. Happy birthday!
And thanks for the constant stream of timely, relevant news. I don’t even check the industry pubs anymore – you guys are my source.

  2. Congratulations, David.
You’ve certainly worked hard to bring intriguing and varied content on a regular basis.
    Here’s to more success.

  3. Congrats. Adpulp deserves even more love than it gets. Keep it up you magnificent bastards.

  4. congratulations.
but did you really need to open with a quote from vinny warren? i would have thought you could get lewis lazare to send some kind words.

  5. Congratulations!
I am a rss reader from china of your blog.
    Keep moving…

  6. Likewise, kudos for providing an intelligent forum. We could use a few more of those – and a few less that rely on snide commentary and postings of “ads” full of half-naked women.

  7. wow, so like in blog years that’s like being hundreds of years old. How’d you make it so far so fast!
    felicitations for the finest!
( dashboarding my thesaurus for the occasion )

  8. Congrats, David. And thanks for letting me contribute. I’m keenly aware of how much time you & Shawn have put into this site, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

  9. High Jive,
Lazare doesn’t read blahgs. Or I would have hit him up.
    To everyone else,
I’m truly humbled. Thanks for being so supportive!

  10. Carl LaFong says:

I realize I’m a little late here, but congrats on what is consistently one of the most informative, insightful ad blogs out there. Nancy’s comments alone are worth the price of admission.
At the risk of revealing my shocking ignorance for all to see, who the heck is Vinny Warren?

  11. yeah, who the hell is vinny warren? happy birthday adpulp. i’m drinking beer right now in your honor.

  12. Hey Carl,
Yea? You’ve been listening? Or reading my lips? Mind your earbuds, buddy!
    Nancy 🙂

  13. Vinny Warren, aside from being an astute reader of blahgs, is the DDB Chicago copywriter who created the infamous “Whazzup” spots for Bud.

  14. I have a HUGE number of sites on my daily reading list. And for some subconscious reason, yours is the only one I never miss. I’m still trying to figure out the appeal. 🙂
Congrats David and friends! You deserve it.

  15. Hey, a belated Happy Birthday to the Pulpers!
