Ad Peeps Have Aesthetic Responsibilities

Sedgwick Road says they do pro-bono work for Seattle Art Museum, “because we believe in making advertising that’s not just effective but aesthetic. The campaign for the Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism exhibit generated attendance 59% over goal and revenue 69% over goal.”

About David Burn

Co-founder and editor of AdPulp. I wrote my first ad for a political candidate when I was 17 years old. She won her race and I felt the seductive power of advertising for the first time. I worked for seven agencies in five states before launching my own practice in 2009. Today, I am head of brand strategy and creative at Bonehook in Portland, Oregon.

Wait a minute. Wasn’t there a nearly identical headline for some Edgar Allen Poe museum a few years back? If memory serves, it was created by The Martin Agency. Perhaps the creatives at Sedgwick Road need to get their heads out of those CA annuals (and so, for that matter, should I).
